Cubic to Receive Share of Joint Forces Support Business Under New General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems Contract.

:CUB) is part of the 22-company team, led by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, that recently received a large services contract to support the U.S. Joint Forces Command's Joint Experimentation Program (JEXP JEXP Joint Experimentation ) and Joint Futures Lab.

The General Dynamics team's five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract contains four option years, which if exercised would bring the total estimated cumulative value of the contract to $478.6 million, shared among 22 companies on the team. The total value to Cubic cannot be determined at this time due to the ID/IQ ID/IQ Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity

Cubic will work with the General Dynamics team in a number of staff positions supporting JEXP at the U.S. Joint Forces Command (JFCOM JFCOM Joint Forces Command (formerly ACOM change effective 1 Oct 99) ) in Suffolk, Va. JFCOM is the designated Department of Defense organization for transforming U.S. warfighting forces into a Joint Fighting Force. The contract was awarded by the Fleet Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment, Philadelphia.

Under the contract, Cubic will assist General Dynamics in supporting both JEXP Concept Development and experimentation Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) is the application of the structure and methods of experimental science to the challenge of developing future military capability.  events. Tasks for the GD/Cubic team may include helping to improve military capabilities by exploring, testing, evaluating and establishing new changes based on proposals for changing military doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership, personnel and facilities.

Cubic has had a presence in the Tidewater area of Virginia since 1994, when it helped establish the Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC JWFC Joint Warfighting Center ) at Fort Monroe, Va., and currently has more than 160 employees supporting JWFC. In addition to working on the Joint National Training Capability initiative, the employees assist combatant commands by helping to coordinate support and seminars, wargames and live, virtual and constructive training exercises -- as well as providing mission rehearsal support for real-world events.
