Fisch, program manager for European air combat training programs for Cubic Defense Systems, a subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corp. (AMEX AMEX See: American Stock Exchange :CUB), has been appointed vice-chairman of a NATO NATO: see North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO in full North Atlantic Treaty Organization International military alliance created to defend western Europe against a possible Soviet invasion. group formed to study issues related to interoperability or compatibility of air combat training systems among NATO member countries. The study group was created by the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG), a forum for discussing defense industry issues that affect NATO nations. It will examine national differences in Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI AACMI Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation system ) systems which currently make it difficult for NATO nations to organize combined combat training exercises. The study group will consist of approximately 27 experts from 17 companies. Cubic will provide three of the 27 experts. Fisch was invited to NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, last February to speak to NATO's AACMI working group on the interoperability issue. "Cubic is an expert on AACMI systems," Fisch said.
