Cubic's Power Amplifier Business Receives Boost with $15.1 Million Contract from Rockwell Collins.

SAN DIEGO -- The defense segment of Cubic Corporation (AMEX:CUB) has received a three-year, $15.1 million contract from Rockwell Collins to supply 1 kilowatt and 4 kilowatt HF power amplifiers that will be used to support domestic and international programs including the US Department of Homeland Security's various communications programs.

The company will begin fulfilling orders under a master purchase agreement that covers the first 24 months of the contract, valued at $8.6 million. The first deliveries will begin in November of this year.

Power amplifiers are used to extend long range, High Frequency (HF) communications. During an emergency situation, where traditional communications can be disrupted, HF systems provide the most reliable backup. Today's advances in automated HF linking and HF e-mail, have regenerated interest in maintaining and updating aging HF networks. Cubic, in partnership with Rockwell Collins, is proud to be the supplier of choice for the United States Government.
