Cubellis Strengthens Building Envelope Services Team with New Senior Staff Hires.

Key New Hires Bring Extensive Practical Experience

BOSTON -- Cubellis, a national architecture, interior design and engineering services firm, has enhanced the firm's Building Envelope Services (BES) team and with four new senior hires and expanded the group's service offerings to include Capital Asset Planning (CAP).

Based in the Cubellis Boston office, the new staff members are Associate Principal Dan McLaughlin; Director, Peter Bowman; Senior Project Manager V. Herb Ule; and Phaldie Taliep, Director of Capital Asset Planning. Each of the new staff members joins Cubellis from Jacobs Edwards and Kelcey.

The Cubellis Building Envelope Services team provides comprehensive services for roof, wall and fenestration systems. The group's focus includes investigations of building envelope failure, remedial solutions design and construction administration; as well as new construction design, document review and development, and construction administration services. Cubellis Building Envelope CAP services include performance of capital needs and due diligence surveys of the building envelope, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and other related building systems for use in capital planning purposes.

Cubellis BES draws upon the team's extensive experience, expertise, and knowledge of building envelope and other construction systems to provide clients with failure investigations, remedial solutions design, new construction design and review and Capital Asset Planning services. As specialists within their field, they assist clients in maximizing return on investment.

Along with its staff's extensive experience in the design and construction industry, the team includes Registered Roofing Consultants and experienced Historical Preservationists.

Dan McLaughlin, LCS, Associate Principal, Building Envelope Services, has more than 25 years of experience in providing roofing/waterproofing and construction management services for projects involving exterior building envelope technology. He is responsible for a variety of tasks encompassing evaluation and design through contract administration and completion. Dan has managed roofing programs for major contractors in New England, ensuring conformance with design specifications. His many years of construction experience contribute to his ability to design and effectively manage the construction administration on large-scale projects. He has experience with the restoration of historic properties and is a graduate of The Campbell Resource Center for Historic Preservation. Dan is a Licensed Construction Supervisor (LCS) and is a member of the ASTM D-08 Committee on Roofing and Bituminous Materials.

Peter Bowman, Director, Building Envelope Services, has over 37 years of diversified experience in project management, design, and facilities engineering. He has extensive experience in the design and construction fields, with concentrated expertise in roofing assessment and replacement, structural engineering, site/civil engineering, and building envelope restoration. Peter has been responsible for the design and management of roofing, structural, paving, facade assessment, and facade reconstruction projects, and he has taken projects from the conceptual stage through design, construction and occupancy. Peter has experience working on all types of facilities including office buildings, schools, hotels, storage facilities, housing and manufacturing buildings.

V. Herb Ule, CCS, RRC, LCS, is Project Manager, Building Envelope Services. Herb has over 28 years of experience providing engineering services for a variety of projects involving exterior building envelope technology, from design through contract completion. His responsibilities include roofing and waterproofing analysis, design development, preparation of technical specifications, and contract administration. He has worked on a wide range of projects from building restorations to large retail, industrial, and distribution facilities. Herb is certified as a Registered Roofing Consultant (RRC) and is a known expert in the Boston area. He is professionally associated with the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), International Concrete Repair Institute (ICR), Roofing Consultants Institute (RCI), and is a Licensed Construction Supervisor (LCS), Registered Roofing Consultant (RRC), and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS).

M. Phaldie Taliep, Director, Capital Asset Planning, has over 30 years of experience in providing project management for projects involving planning, urban design, programming and building engineering services for housing, facilities, master plans, environmental, and economic development. He is responsible for a variety of tasks encompassing evaluation and design through contract administration and completion. Phaldie has managed numerous housing programs in Massachusetts for the Boston Housing Authority, and is proficient in project scheduling, contract administration, evaluation of mechanical and electrical systems. Phaldie is professionally affiliated with the Town of Framingham Economic Development and Industrial Corporation Committee.
