Cub Foods Makes Substantial Donation to Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank.


Cub and its customers generously give more than $160,000

STILLWATER, Minn. -- Cub Foods Cub Foods is a grocery store chain with eighty-four stores in Minnesota, Iowa, Northern and Central Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Miami Valley in Ohio. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based Supervalu.  today made a donation of more than $160,000 to Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank.

During September and October 2007, Cub customers were asked to "round up" their grocery bills to the next dollar, with contributions benefiting Second Harvest. Cub matched its customers' donations, resulting in a total donation of $160,616.32 that will ease hunger for hundreds of thousands of people in Minnesota and the surrounding sur·round
