Csii Announces Launch of Telephony Over Cable.

Cable Satisfaction International Inc. (TSE:CSQ.A.)(Csii) is pleased to announce that its Portuguese subsidiary has launched residential telephony over cable under the IPhone brand.

With this commercial launch, subscribers in the Palmela region can add telephony to existing cable television and high-speed Internet services, while benefiting from the advantages of a single bill, another first in Portugal.

Using Nortel Networks' Cornerstone technology, the telephony service enables both local and long distance calls, at competitive price. This telephony service will be offered progressively to Cabovisao's 290,000 homes passed in the main regions of the country.

Concurrently, the deployment of the national fiber-optic network in Portugal is progressing well and the first phase of construction, a 261 km ring connecting the head ends in Palmela, Santo Andre and Beja, has been completed.

Csii builds and operates broadband hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) networks and, through its subsidiary Cabovisao, provides cable television, high-speed Internet and telephony services in Portugal, with high-speed data services to be added shortly. Csii is also building a national fiber-optic backbone to offer all the services of the new digital economy throughout Portugal.

The subordinate voting shares of Csii are listed on The Toronto Stock Exchange.
