Csaba: We need new striker in.

FRUSTRATED Csaba Laszlo made an SOS plea for a new striker after blasting Hearts' lack of killer instinct.

The Jambos boss reckons yesterday's 0-0 derby draw with Hibs highlighted the deficiencies in his side and insists they could have played all day and not scored.

Now he is praying owner Vladimir Romanov stumps up the funds to sign a proven goal-grabber to partner Christian Nade up front.

Laszlo groaned: "You can shoot maybe 20 times in a game and hit the post and the bar but you must be more focused on the target.

"If you don't have a killer instinct you can create 20 million chances - but if you don't score then you are always in danger.

"The game could have finished 10-5 or 6-4 but we just couldn't score.

"We had a spell in the second half when we really pushed Hibs.

"If we had scored then we would have killed them off.

"It's no big secret we need somebody who can score.

"Now the transfer window is open and I have given my plans to the board and hope they will be active.

"I feel frustrated but we have had problems with Marius Zaliukas and Lee Wallace out. We were also a bit unlucky with injuries.

"Christos Karipidis got hurt after a couple of minutes then Jason Thomson suffered a head knock that forced us to change the team early on.

"So I must praise my team - especially the young guys Thomson, Eggert Jonsson and Gary Glen.

"This was not just about two points lost. It was an enjoyable game and Hibs were dangerous. So this is not too sad a day."

Laszlo hopes Romanov will add to the squad sooner rather than later - but there will be no movement before this week's trip to Fir Park.

He explained: "We face Motherwell on Wednesday and nothing will happen before that game."
