Crystallex International Corporation board approves US$4 million exploration program.


VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 1994 Crystallex International Corporation Crystallex International Corporation (TSX: KRY, AMEX: KRY) is a Canadian corporation engaged in gold mining and exploration. It operates open-pit mines and exploration sites in Venezuela.  (the "Company") today announced that its board has approved a US$4 million exploration program for 1995, focusing primarily on the further delineation of the Albino albino (ălbī`nō) [Port.,=white], animal or plant lacking normal pigmentation. The absence of pigment is observed in the body covering (skin, hair, and feathers) and in the iris of the eye.  reserves and the evaluation of its Santa Elena Santa Elena, the Spanish-language name of Saint Helen, is often used as a toponym in parts of the world where that tongue is or was spoken:
  • Argentina
  • Santa Elena, Entre RĂ­os
  • Belize
 7&8 properties. The required funds for the exploration program will come from cash flow to be generated from the Company's mill on the Albino concession.

The Company also stated that its board has approved the initiation of a testing program to evaluate the feasibility of heap leaching the low grade ore on the Albino concession. If the test is successful, the reserves on the Albino could be expanded significantly. The Albino mill is currently operating 24 hours a day processing tailings Tailings (also known as tailings pile, tails, leach residue, or slickens[1]) are the materials left over[2] after the process of separating the valuable fraction from the worthless fraction of an ore.  material and the La Conductora pit has been dewatered in preparation for the Company to begin mining the higher grade material.

The Company's two-day board meeting resolved a number of critical issues involving corporate development and strategic planning including financing, restructuring, staffing, etc.

Crystallex International Corporation is engaged in the exploration, development and mining of gold in Venezuela where the Company has three major concessions -- the Albino, Carabobo and Santa Elena.
