). This alliance will create an authorized consortium allowed to use patented technology to produce and sell crystal products with a sub-surface laser etching.

LDI owns the patents (known as the "Clement Patents") that control the creation of sub-surface laser etching within crystal. Norwood has been an exclusive licensee of these patents for many years and Crystalix Group International has been licensed under the patents with Norwood's permission since 2002. The technology is protected by U.S. patent numbers 5,206,496 and 5,637,244 and foreign counterparts. The partnership is creating a proprietary logo that will appear on all authorized products as well as in all Norwood and CGI advertising featuring these products. Other licensees of the Clement Patents will be required by Norwood to use the logo for their licensed products in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . Promotional products distributors and retailers can be assured that any crystal product with sub-surface laser etching with this logo is a trusted product protected by patent. In the future, the absence of the logo will be a clear indicator that the product is counterfeit and the manufacturer is in violation of United States patent laws that cover all products sold in the United States regardless of where the products are produced. Norwood will publicize the proprietary logo upon its expected mid-May completion.
