Beattie's hopes of staying at Crystal Palace have been dashed after the club admitted they can't afford him. It is owned by Simon Jordan, and is the current home ground of Crystal Palace Football Club, of which Jordan is chairman. Its present capacity is 26,309. from West Brom last term. Boss Neil Warnock was desperate to keep the Scotland cap at Palace but has been forced to admit defeat due to a lack of funds. Warnock said: "We have spoken to West Brom about the prospect of bringing Craig back here. "But they said they would only do a permanent deal and we simply can't afford that." Beattie joined West Brom from Celtic in a pounds 1.75million deal in 2007. |
