Cryo-Cell affiliate announces successful testing of world's first infrared hand washing monitoring system.

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- May 13, 1997--Daniel D. Richard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CRYO-CELL International, Inc., announced today that he had been informed by Glenn E. Cohen cohen

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
of Net/Tech International, Inc., an affiliate, that their company had successfully tested its Hygiene Guard Hand Washing Monitoring System. The patented system is designed to monitor whether employees of the food service industry and hospital personnel wash their hands after using the restroom facilities, prior to returning to the work place. "This is very exciting news for us," Mr. Richard stated, "since CRYO-CELL owns over two million shares of Net/Tech's 5,755,212 issued and outstanding shares, representing 35.4% of that company."

According to Kevin Brady, Product Development Engineer, the System, which has been under development for more than three years, consists of a small badge worn by employees, an Exit/Entry Monitoring Unit (EEMU EEMU European Economic and Monetary Union ) and a Sink Monitoring Unit (SMU SMU Southern Methodist University
SMU Solid (Waste) Management Unit
SMU Saint Mary's University (Halifax, Nova Scotia; Philippines)
SMU Singapore Management University
SMU Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
). When an employee walks into a restroom, a dormant badge LED is awakened and begins to blink. If the employee fails to complete the hand washing sequence, using the soap dispenser and remaining in front of the sink for a specified period of time, the badge will continue to blink after exiting, informing management that this employee has not washed their hands. In addition, for more thorough monitoring, employers can get daily print-outs from the EEMU which stores information on the hand washing activity of each worker.

As a result of the successful testing, Net/Tech has received commitments for Beta Test Site demonstrations. By mid summer, Net/Tech intends to have six Beta Test Sites. These can include military installations, casinos, cruise ships, restaurants and other high volume, close confinement locations where it is imperative to control infectious diseases because of the greater risk of exposure.

"Last year alone, published statistics estimate as high as 33 million people became ill from food borne disease and 9,000 died. In addition, more than 80,000 patients die from hospital borne infections each year," stated Mr. Cohen. Net/Tech believes the Hygiene Guard System can reduce the spread of infections and help save lives. Leading health authorities have been enthusiastic about the development of a product that can control the spread of infectious diseases, according to Mark Hersh, recently appointed Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.

The Hygiene Guard will be unveiled at the National Restaurant Show this week, commencing May 17.
