Sophomore Jordan Cyr added an empty-net goal that proved to be the winner when the Engineers scored with 47 seconds left.

Junior Ian Dams made 25 saves for HC.

Becker 4, Plymouth State 2

The Hawks got goals from four different players and junior Tony Stoehr made 24 saves as Becker got past the Panthers in Waterville Valley, N.H.

Fitchburg State 4, Saint Michael's 4

Former Gardner High standout Matt Arsenault and former Marlboro High standout Bob Kaloustian each recorded two points as the Falcons battled back from a 3-0 deficit to forge a tie with Saint Michael's in the Purple Knights' Holiday Classic in Burlington, Vt.

Arsenault had a goal and an assist, while Kaloustian notched a pair of assists.

Fitchburg State is 5-5-1, Saint Michaels 1-6-1.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Women's basketball is one of the few games which developed in tandem with men's. It became popular, spreading from the east coast of the United States to the west coast, in large part via women's colleges.

Former Algonquin Regional standout Michelle Otey scored 18 points - including an 8-for-13 performance from the field - and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Purple Knights (8-4, 5-3 NE-10) over the River Hawks (5-6, 2-4) in Lowell.

Quinsigamond CC 76

Colby Smith and Kim Ratti combined to score 25 points for the Chiefs (2-10), who fell to Manchester CC (11-2) in Manchester, N.H.

Lyndsee Rizkalla added 11 points for Quinsigamond.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Husson 76, Clark 70

Mark Alexander lead all scorers with 17 points, while Slader Lyell added six points and eight boards for the Cougars (5-5) in a loss to the Eagles (2-6) in the CUA (Common User Access) SAA specifications for user interfaces, which includes OS/2 PM and character-based formats of 3270 terminals. It is intended to provide a consistent look and feel across platforms and between applications.

After Trinity (2-6) tied it a moment later, Horton made a put-back that started an 11-5 Lancer run with just under seven minutes left.

The Lancers will face the winner of last night's game between Wheaton and Bethany Lutheran in the championship at 3 p.m. today.

Anna Maria 57, Wheelock 55

Freshman Brad Peterson (13 points, 11 rebounds) made a steal with two seconds left, then nailed an 18-footer from the left side at the buzzer to snap a six-game losing streak for the visiting AmCats (3-8) and avenge a loss to Wheelock (2-7) earlier in the season.

Ryan Joyal had 17 rebounds to go along with 12 points, while Walson Constant and Victor Ramos each had 10 points for Anna Maria.
