Cruise to follow in wake of Titanic.


A CHANCE to retrace the voyage of the illfated Titanic Titanic (tītăn`ĭk), British liner that sank on the night of Apr. 14–15, 1912, after crashing into an iceberg in the N Atlantic S of Newfoundland. More than 1,500 lives were lost.  is to be held on the 100th anniversary of the disaster.

Miles Morgan Travel, in Bristol, is taking reservations for the cruise which will follow the exact route, passing the point where the Titanic sank, in April, 1912, killing 1,517 of the 2,223 people on board.

The 12-night cruise on board MS Balmoral will depart from Southampton, on April 8, 2012.

It will pass Cherbourg, on the French coast, before calling at the Irish port of Cobh, as the original ship did.

A spokesman for Miles Morgan Travel said: "From here the ship will sail across the Atlantic, arriving at the Titanic site on April 14/15, exactly 100 years on, where a memorial service will be held "The voyage will then continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia For other uses, see Halifax.

Prices for the voyage start at pounds 2,595.
