Cruel to show slum kids luxury then take it away.

INSTITUTIONAL child cruelty can't get much worse than the fate of the two young Mumbai shanty-town dwellers whisked to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  for the Oscars ceremony that won Slumdog Millionaire eight awards.

Rubina Qureshi and Azharudin Ismail, eight and ten, were booked into a five-star hotel, slept in beds for the first time, used modern plumbing, sampled good food and were taken shopping.

But, ceremony over, it was back to the Mumbai slums for the children.

To complete their misery, Azharudin's grasping grasping

Okay, these kids are to be moved into better homes and money has been set aside for their school fees, but to show them a better world, then whisk it away, is bordering on sadistic sa·dism
