Crude `Sarah Marshall' very forgettable.

 in the '80s, Judd Apatow has come to define modern film comedy, whether through his own films like "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up" or films he produces for others like "Superbad." They're broad comedies, often tasteless and just as often very funny.

At the film's start she dumps him in a scene that is already notorious for its gratuitous full frontal male nudity. There's no real reason for it, but it gets a shocked laugh, which seems to be the point.

He tries a series of one-night stands to get over the hurt, but finally takes off for Hawaii, hoping a change of scenery will do him some good. Unfortunately Sarah not only shows up at the same hotel, she arrives with her seriously hip new boyfriend, rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand Russell Edward Brand[1] (born June 4, 1975) is an English radio and television personality, comedian, actor, and newspaper columnist. Brand dresses in a flamboyant bohemian fashion describing himself as looking like an "S&M Willy Wonka". ). Fortunately desk clerk Rachel (Mila Kunis Milena Markovna "Mila" Kunis (Ukrainian: Милена Маркoвна Кунис; born August 14 1983) is an American actress. ) takes pity on Peter and tries to get him out of his pit of despair The pit of despair, or vertical chamber, was a device used in experiments conducted on rhesus macaque monkeys during the 1970s by American comparative psychologist Harry Harlow and his students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. .

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is more a matter of taste than anything else. Some will find it uproariously funny while others will wonder what the fuss is all about. Put this critic firmly in the latter category.
