:MU) and one of the world's largest direct memory upgrade providers, announced today the launch of the Server Solutions Center, www.crucial.com/servers, a Web resource designed specifically for customers with servers in both large and small network environments.

"Crucial's Server Solutions Center addresses the specific needs of this growing market," said Crucial's General Manager Fred Waddel, referring to an August 2002 Gartner Dataquest report showing server shipments in the US increased nearly 10 percent year over year, with Intel-based server sales growing more than 11 percent in the same time period. "Crucial offers a comprehensive selection of high-quality memory upgrades for Intel-based servers. Our prices are extremely competitive because when you're buying from Crucial, you're buying directly from the memory manufacturer, Micron. Our direct model puts us in an excellent position to meet the needs of a large portion of the enterprise market."

A recent survey of Crucial's enterprise customers revealed they rate quality, price, and ease-of-use (in that order) as the features they look for in a server memory provider. Crucial created its Server Solutions Center based on those criteria. The center is a section of the Crucial Web site featuring server-specific product details, purchasing information, pricing, and special offers. The site also features a special server-only version of Crucial's award-winning Memory Selector (programming) selector - 1. In Smalltalk or Objective C, the syntax of a message which selects a particular method in the target object.

In fact, that is one of their major features.  listing guaranteed-compatible memory upgrades and detailed memory requirements for thousands of servers.
