through individual donations and displayed for the week-long silent
auction were a model ship, gift certificates from local businesses, a
hand-quilted American flag, a handmade doll house, race car memorabilia,

individual cash contributions brought total donations to $3,000. The
committee worked with the Family Readiness Coordinator at the New
Orleans Air National Guard and the Base Family Program Coordinator at
the Gulfport Air National Guard to purchase and distribute bank gift
cards that individuals could use like cash at any business accepting
credit cards. The money was spread even further when our Aroostook
County Key Bank branches waived the purchase fee in support of our
disaster relief donations.
