Crown Pacific reports higher fourth quarter and year end results.

:CRO) today reported results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended 1995 and declared its fourth quarter 1995 distribution.

Fourth quarter 1995 revenues were $89.4 million, which compare to $87.2 million in the 1994 quarter. Operating income Operating Income

 was $12.4 million and $6.2 million for the fourth quarter 1995 and 1994, respectively. Net income was $4.6 million in the 1995 quarter, which compares to a $3.3 million loss in the 1994 period. Fourth quarter 1995 net income totaled 25 cents per unit.

For the year ended Dec. 31, 1995, Crown Pacific reported net income of $17.3 million, or 94 cents per unit, on revenues of $383.4 million. This compares to net income of $3.6 million on revenues of $397.3 million for fiscal 1994.

(a) In the first quarter 1995, the company completed the update of its timber inventory system to reflect the 3.4 billion board feet of timber it owned. The resulting increase in timber volumes reduced depletion depletion n. when a natural resource (particularly oil) is being used up. The annual amount of depletion may, ironically, provide a tax deduction for the company exploiting the resource because if the resource they are exploiting runs out, they will no longer be able  cost for the year ended Dec. 31, 1995, by $7.4 million, or 41 cents per unit, and had no impact on cash flow.
