Crown Crafts Stockholders Send Message That Status Quo is Unacceptable.

-- Wynnefield Nominee Wasserman Wins Election to Board, According to Preliminary Results --

NEW YORK -- The Wynnefield Group, the largest stockholder in Crown Crafts Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWS), announced today that preliminary voting results provided by the independent inspectors of election indicate that its director-nominee Frederick Wasserman had won election to the Crown Crafts Board of Directors at the Company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders on August 14. The preliminary figures also indicate that Wynnefield's other director-nominee, Nelson Obus, is within 1.7% of the vote total needed to win election to the Board.

Given the closeness of the results, Wynnefield stated that it will review carefully the voting results that are currently being tabulated by election inspectors IVS Associates. The proxy tabulation will be provided to both Wynnefield and the Company and, at that time, both sides will have the opportunity to examine and challenge the inspectors' count and its process.

"We'd like to thank Crown Crafts stockholders for their support. In the course of this campaign, we have had the chance to speak with many stockholders and have learned that many share the view that outside stockholders should have a 'voice and a vote,'" said Wasserman, an independent financial management consultant with management and board experience. "Although these results are preliminary, they reflect the strong views I heard in my conversations with stockholders."

Nelson Obus, managing partner of Wynnefield Capital said, "Stockholders owning more than four million shares - about 40% of the outstanding shares and nearly 50% of the votes cast - as well as three of the independent proxy voting advisory services sent a clear message that the status quo is unacceptable and can not continue.

Two directors' seats were contested in the election. According to the preliminary results, Wasserman garnered the support of stockholders representing 4,089,852 shares (or 49.4% of shares voted), the second-highest among the four candidates vying for those two seats. Obus received votes representing 4,015,909 shares (or 48.5% of shares voted) - within 138,567 votes (1.7%) of the Company nominee William Deyo. Company nominee Steven Fox received the fewest votes among the four. Votes representing a total of 8,281,748 shares were cast.
