Crown operates 55 stores in metropolitan Los Angeles, including 23 Super Crowns. Crown Books announced earlier this year that it plans to open approximately 28 new Super Crown Stores by mid-1996. Also, as part of the Super Crown expansion program, the company announced that it will triple the number of Super Crown Stores in the Houston metropolitan area over the next 36 months--opening 12 to 15 new stores.
