Eastern Daylight Time EDT Eastern Daylight Time EDT n abbr (US) (= Eastern Daylight Time) → hora de verano de Nueva York EDT today to provide details concerning exploration programs currently underway in the Thompson Nickel Belt
Nickel Belt is an informal nickname for the Sudbury region in Northern Ontario, because of the belt of nickel ore deposits found in the area. (TNB TNB Tenaga Nasional Berhad (electric power utility in Malaysia) TNB Tacoma Narrows Bridge TNB Thomas and Betts TNB Trinitrobenzene TNB Télévision Nationale du Burkina (Burkina Faso) ), Manitoba including results of a recently completed Midas, high-resolution, helicopter-borne magnetic geophysical survey Geophysical survey refers to the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies. Geophysical surveys may use a great variety of sensing instruments, and data may be collected from above or below the Earth's surface or from aerial or marine platforms. undertaken by Fugro Airborne Surveys (overseen by Falconbridge Limited). Webcast Details Date: Thursday March 2, 2006 Time: 10:30 AM EDT Available on Crowflight Website: http://www.crowflight.com. This call will also be available as an archive on Crowflight's website following the completion of the webcast for a period of at least three months. Results of High Resolution Magnetic Survey The Midas, high-resolution, helicopter-borne magnetic survey employs two boom-mounted, high sensitivity magnetic sensors flown over the property at very low altitudes (35 to 40 metres above gound). This survey allows for very detailed measurements of the near surface magnetic field in the underlying rocks, including better calculation and improved imaging and location of magnetic features of exploration interest such as ultramafic rocks (rock type that hosts nickel deposits), iron formations and structural features such as faults and folds. Three dimensional, Inversion modeling performed by Falconbridge improved the resolution of features in the top 200 metres of sub-surface geology by 2 to 3 times what had previously been achieved using prior techniques. A summary report provided to Crowflight by operator Falconbridge states: "The survey has outlined several prospective new targets associated with key stratigraphic stra·tig·ra·phy n. The study of rock strata, especially the distribution, deposition, and age of sedimentary rocks. strat units and permissive structure in both the TNB North and TNB South Project Areas." Several of these features are closely associated with intersections containing anomalous grades of nickel (0.5% to 3.33% nickel) over significant intersection lengths (1.0 metre to 11.0 metres). Crowflight Exploration Manager, Greg Collins (P.Geo) commented on the results from the high-resolution survey stating: "The results of this survey have directly influenced and refined targets to be tested during the Winter 2006 drill program on both the TNB North and TNB South Project Areas. As such, we're very excited to see the results of the winter drill program on these targets." Mr. Collins will be presenting details concerning these targets during the course of the Webcast. Drilling is currently underway on the Crowflight - Falconbridge joint venture projects in the TNB South and TNB North Project Areas. Winter Ice conditions and access permitting, a total of 8,000 metres in 20 holes are planned to be completed prior to the end of the second quarter 2006. It is expected that Crowflight will be in a position to begin releasing the results from these programs prior to the end of March 2006.
