Crowder hits seven birdies.


WEST LANCASHIRE'S Chris Crowder scored 43 points in a round that included seven birdies and an eagle to win the Liverpool Alliance at Prenton.

Nick Sargent of Eastham Lodge finished second with 41, one point ahead of Jonathan Massey from Hartford with amateur Peter Coates of Hoylake. Massey, in his first professional event in the Alliance returned a 4-under 67.

Crowder with club colleague Neil Reeves also won the pro-am with 47 points, equalling their record score at Warrington in the spring. Matt Shea of Eastham and Frank Barham of Chester were second with 46.

Jonathan Newby from Royal Liverpool with Hoylake's Peter Coates won the am-am with 46, with two partnerships sharinS S g second place with 43, Steve Johnson Steve Johnson is the name of:

In the absence of other leaders Nick Sargent's 41 points put him in top place in the Order of Merit Order of Merit
