He served the University from 1957, when he became Dean of Engineering, until 1989, when he retired. After serving as Dean of Engineering, Woolf became acting President in 1958 and President in 1960. is now responsible for the management of the Jones Commercial Group, a unit of Crow's parent company, the Charlotte, N.C.-based Jones Group.
