The ServerAttach SA40 is the first in a family of ServerAttach products from Crossroads. ServerAttach extends the company's storage connectivity leadership and patented technology into the SCSI server connectivity market -- a market with an estimated installed base of more than two million midrange midrange Epidemiology The halfway point or midpoint in a set of observations; for most data, MR is calculated as the sum of the smallest observation and the largest observation, divided by 2; for age data, one is added to the numerator; a midrange is usually  servers.

Pricing and Distribution

With its ServerAttach products, Crossroads is the first company to provide platform-specific storage networking appliances to help customers connect applications to SANs. The ServerAttach SA40, with a list price of $27,599, is currently available through selected distribution and reseller partners in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and Europe (www.crossroads.com/partners/distribution.asp).

Security and Resource Sharing

A key element of Crossroads' ServerAttach solution is its value-add security features. Crossroads' patented access controls add security to the SAN by enabling customers to designate or restrict access to specific devices and Logical Units (LUNs) in the centralized cen·tral·ize

High Reliability and Availability

The ServerAttach SA40 was designed for enterprise environments and provides high availability Also called "RAS" (reliability, availability, serviceability) or "fault resilient," it refers to a multiprocessing system that can quickly recover from a failure. There may be a minute or two of downtime while one system switches over to another, but processing will continue.  features to reduce single points of failure. These redundancy focused features enable the SA40 to continue operating despite a major component failure. These additional features include dual power supplies, dual power inputs/cords and three redundant fans.

Quick and Easy Installation

The Crossroads ServerAttach family allows customers to implement server-to-SAN connectivity solutions quickly and easily with a streamlined installation process and Web browser-based user interface. No Host Bus Adapter See host adapter.  hardware or driver software is required for supported ServerAttach installations.
