Crossroads Systems Announces OEM Agreement With IBM; Crossroads' Channel Emulator is Enabling Technology for Infoprint Manager for Windows.

), the leading developer and manufacturer of Fibre Channel storage routers See data mover.  and S/390(a) channel technology, today announced that it will supply IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) (a) with PCI-based interface cards under an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement with the company.

IBM Printing Systems will market the PCI-based interface cards, which connect Microsoft(b) Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. (b) and Windows(b) 2000 servers to channel-attached printers, as a Model 4159-001 channel card for use with Infoprint(a) Manager for Windows NT and Windows 2000. The emulation card is the first solution for Windows NT and Windows 2000 that enables production printing at speeds of more than 1,000 pages per minute -- significantly faster than the current optimal print speed on this platform.

Infoprint Manager for Windows offers robust connectivity and management, providing centralized control 1. In air defense, the control mode whereby a higher echelon makes direct target assignments to fire units. 2. In joint air operations, placing within one commander the responsibility and authority for planning, directing, and coordinating a military operation or group/category of  of workgroup and production printing. The software is designed for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as large enterprises. It manages heterogeneous printers with varying speeds -- from three pages per minute up to more than 1,000 pages per minute -- and supports the output from both PC-based network applications, as well as IBM AS/400(a) and S/390 environments.

The parallel channel card for Infoprint Manager for Windows NT and 2000 became available March 24th.
