RVA is a simple, cost-effective and stand-alone appliance that ensures the integrity, performance and full utilization of tape backup systems. As more than 50 percent of tape backup errors are directly attributed to tape media, Crossroads' RVA offers a unique approach to ensure the protection and integrity of information. Additionally, since governmental agencies and companies of all sizes are now required to store data over long periods of time, RVA provides organizations with a proactive mechanism to verify that information is recoverable from tape medium and systems.

RVA provides advanced management features such as tape drive performance and utilization analysis, tape media and drive statistical data logging, and automated report and alert functionality. RVA validates the integrity of the drive/media system while providing historical resource monitoring and reporting, enabling companies to be proactive in managing tape media errors - resulting in increased backup reliability, maximum tape media usage and overall cost savings.

"The ReadVerify Appliance is a solution focused on solving a long-standing issue with backup," said Rob Sims, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Crossroads Systems. "It is common practice for users to live with backup failure, simply repeating the process multiple times with the hope that one of the backups will work in the case where recovery is needed. The RVA gives them a proactive method of managing their media and drives, minimizing the risk of backup and recovery errors."

The value of the ReadVerify Appliance can be recognized in its numerous features, including:

* Tape Media Integrity Over its Effective Life

* Backup Environment System Monitoring

* Drive Utilization and Performance

* Policy-Based Reporting and Alerting

* Seamless Heterogeneous Deployment - No performance impact on backup process

* Intuitive Graphical Display

* Support for ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  - Performance gains in tape usage, resource balancing and backup recovery assurance

The new ReadVerify solution has been architected to support drives, including the HP and IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  LTO (Linear Tape Open) A family of open magnetic tape standards developed by HP, IBM and Quantum (formerly the Certance subsidiary of Seagate) that are licensed to third-party vendors. LTO cartridges contain a memory that stores historical usage data.  1, 2 and 3; Quantum DLT/SDLT; and StorageTek T9000 series. An expansion of additional supported drives will be available in future generations of RVA. For more information on SurePath RVA, visit http://www.crossroads.com/products/surepath/rva.

Further, presenting innovative BIA technology demonstrations in the areas of database security, tape encryption, business continuity and disaster recovery, Crossroads welcomes attendees to visit Crossroads' SNW booth G12 throughout the show. Meetings with Rob Sims, President and CEO of Crossroads, and Greg Reny, senior vice-president of sales, can be scheduled by contacting Scott Griffith at scott.griffith@zintelpr.com or Anyck Turgeon at aturgeon@crossroads.com.
