Two new grades of crosslinked PE, one for XLPE electrical cable and one for under-floor heating pipe, are newly available to the North American market from Borealis Compounds LLC, Port Murray, N.J.

* LC8205 XLPE copolymer is the newest of Borealis' Supercure cable compounds. This medium-voltage insulation material is said to be the first of its kind to combine tree-retardant properties with faster crosslinking.

* BorPex XLPE compound is designed to produce tough and flexible hot-water pipe for sub-surface heating systems. This material was used by German processor Rehau for under-field heating in eight stadiums that hosted the 2006 world soccer championships. Tel: [phone] * PTDirect: 261AD
