Crossland serves up new center.

Bentonville's Wal-Mart Stoles Inc., the world's largest company, has hired Crossland Construction Inc. of Rogers to build its new $4.4 million tennis facility on Southeast 14th Street in Bentonville.

The 68,000-SF facility, along with Wal-Mart corporate's existing 131,000-SF Walton Life Fitness Center, will make it the largest corporate athletic facility in America.

Miller Boskus & Lack Architecture in Fayetteville is the architect on the building, and CEI Engineering Associates Inc. in Bentonville is the engineer. The fitness center addition will be located just west of the Walton Life Fitness Center.

Wal-Mart is financing the addition itself.

The two-story facility is expected to be completed in April and will include six indoor and six outdoor tennis courts, additional locker rooms, a pro shop, a mezzanine level and 174 new parking spaces.
