CrossComm signs nationwide distribution agreement with Sprint/North Supply.


MARLBOROUGH, Mass. --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dec. 6, 1994 -- CrossComm Corp. (NASDAQ/XCOM) today announced an agreement with Sprint/North Supply allowing the $700 million Sprint subsidiary to distribute CrossComm internetworking products to value-added resellers A value-added reseller (VAR) is a company that adds some feature(s) to an existing product(s), then resells it (usually to end-users) as an integrated product or complete "turn-key" solution.  (VARs) and Sprint affiliates.

Under the agreement, Sprint/North Supply will develop and manage a national dealer network program market and sell CrossComm products and services to VARs and Sprint-affiliated telecommunications companies See telecom company. . Combined, these two channels sell to more than 15,000 businesses. Sprint/North Supply, supported by CrossComm, also will provide VARs and Sprint affiliates with training, demonstration products, and complete customer service and support. Sprint/North Supply will market CrossComm equipment to VARs through its Business Network Group and to Sprint affiliates through its Public Network Division.

Sprint/North Supply's VARs and Sprint affiliates additionally will have the option to contract CrossComm's Network Services Group for end-user network management services and can contract on-site services from IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , in accord with CrossComm's newly announced Technical Support Services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  Agreement with IBM.
