CrossAccess' eXadas Data Integrator to Streamline On-Line Orders for Neckermann; Dynamic Mainframe Data Integration for New Ordering System.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 2002

CrossAccess Corporation, a leader in legacy data integration, today announced that Neckermann B.V., a Netherlands-based home-shopping network, has adopted eXadas(TM) Data Integrator as the enabling technology behind a new on-line order entry system.

Neckermann has unveiled a new application that allows on-line orders for their Web-based product catalog. eXadas Data Integrator (XDI (XRI Data Interchange) An emerging OASIS standard for data exchange and synchronization on the Internet. XDI is based on the OASIS XRI digital identifier standard for i-names and i-numbers (see XRI and i-name for details). ) has enabled rapid deployment of the new Java application without the need for mainframe-based programming or maintenance of data access routines. The application manages the Web ordering process and XDI provides seamless bi-directional access to their IDMS See CA-IDMS and IDMSX.

database. Prior to implementation of the new system, orders had to be submitted as emails. Neckermann staff processed the orders by re-keying details into a 3270 IDMS application. Beyond the expense and manual labor of the old system, real-time order processing was impossible. Now orders are processed automatically and immediately.

eXadas technology bridges the gap between legacy data sources and the modern applications and networks that must access core business information. Data stored in IMS (1) See IP Multimedia Subsystem.
