Cross Lake Minerals: Sheraton-Timmins Property -- Drilling Underway.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 1999-- Cross Lake(VSE:CRN.) Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. (the "Company") wishes to announce that, further to the release of March 1, 1999, the first phase of 1999 drilling is underway on the 100 percent owned Sheraton-Timmins Property, near Timmins, Ontario.

The 2,000 metre program is planned to test high priority targets identified from previous drilling and borehole geophysical surveys and to follow the down plunge extension of the high grade zinc-silver mineralization in holes CLS 97-16, 98-49 and 98-63. The program is expected to take four to six weeks.

The Company also wishes to advise that Pelangio-Larder Mines, Limited has provided notice that it will not continue with its option to earn a 50 percent interest on the Company's 100 percent held Bowman Township Property, comprised of 28 mining claims (57 units) located in Bowman Township, Larder Lake Mining Division, Ontario. The Company will continue to seek joint venture participation on the property.
