Cross Lake Minerals: Night Hawk Lake Joint Venture Drill Results.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1997-- CROSS LAKE (VSE:CRN.) CROSS LAKE MINERALS LTD. (the "Company") has received from Golden Knight Resources Inc., the Operator of the Night Hawk Lake Joint Venture, results from four holes on the Sheraton Lake Zone (SKG 97-12 to 15), as well as four holes on the Cross Lake Zone, including new Hole SK 97-16 and three hole extensions (SK 97-10A, CLS97-7E and CLS97-8E).

All holes intersected narrow bands of copper and zinc mineralization.

Holes SKG 97-12 through 97-15 tested the Sheraton Lake Zone along 600 metres of strike. The best values were obtained in SKG 97-12 which intersected three narrow copper zones that assayed 1.4 percent copper over 0.5 metres, 2.27 percent copper over 1.2 metres and 2.45 percent copper over 1.0 metres. SKG 97-13 intersected 0.48 grams gold and 17.2 grams silver per tonne and 0.36 percent copper over 1.0 metre, as well as 0.35 grams gold and 9.8 grams silver per tonne and 0.48 percent copper over 1.0 metre. SKG 97-14 intersected 0.50 percent zinc over 6.95 metres. Since drilling commenced on the Sheraton Lake Zone, copper and zinc mineralization has been identified in every hole of widely-spaced drilling over a strike length of 1.1 kilometres. The Sheraton Lake Zone is open along strike and at depth.

Hole SK 97-16 on the Cross Lake Zone tested the updip extension of the gold zone encountered in Hole SK 97-10 which intersected 4.0 grams of gold over 14 metres and 1.51 percent zinc over 5 metres. Hole SK 97-16 intersected 0.97 grams gold and 169.0 grams silver per tonne over 1.3 metres, and 2.12 percent zinc over 1.5 metres. Two zones of copper mineralization of 8.8 metres averaging 0.31 percent copper and 18.7 metres averaging 0.6 percent copper with values ranging up to 1.7 percent copper also occur.

Hole CLS 97-7E, which extends onto the Night Hawk Lake Joint Venture property from the Company's 100 percent owned Sheraton-Timmins property, intersected gold values up to 1 gram within an 11 metre-wide (300-311 metre) section containing anomalous gold values associated with anomalous molybdenum. This intersection is interpreted to be the westward extension of the gold zone in Hole SK 97-10, 200 metres to the northeast of Hole CLS 97-7. Wide zones of anomalous zinc values occur in both Holes CLS 97-7E and 97-8E.

The Night Hawk Lake Joint Venture has also approved a $465,000 program consisting of geophysics and up to 2,500 metres of diamond drilling on the Cross Lake and Sheraton Lake Zones. The program will commence in early November and will be completed before Christmas. The joint venture consists of Golden Knight (60 percent), Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. (16 percent), East West Resource Corporation (16 percent), and Canadian Golden Dragon Resources Ltd. (8 percent). -0-
