With the clocks going back tomorrow, Durham Police is urging residents to stay safe and give thieves the cold shoulder during the winter months.

Hoards of letters are being delivered to convicted burglars about to be released from prison.

The warnings detail what could happen if they return to a life of crime and tells the offenders that police will be watching them when they are back living in the County Durham community.
