Crookhall openers stand and deliver.

While the weather caused many problems, the only trouble for Whickham was the two Crookhall openers.

Paul Greenwell and Andrew Cummings were in devastating form as they hit the Glebe lads to all parts of the ground with an unbeaten century partnership.

The star of the show was Greenwell, who just managed to top the magical three-figure mark before running out of overs to finish exactly on 100.

Whickham set about the chase with determination and, while the target proved too great, they managed to score at six runs an over.

Graham Bowman led the way before falling just two runs short of a half-century as Whickham made 120-4.

Elsewhere, Blaydon maintained their unbeaten record with a derby win against Swalwell.

It was always going to be an uphill task for Swalwell after they only managed 53-6. Blaydon, however, did lose three wickets before claiming maximum points.

Lanchester were well beaten against Greenside. They could only muster 43 in their chase to reach Greenside's 136-7.

Tynemouth maintained their good start to the season at under-15 level with an eight-wicket victory over Ashington.

Sam Robson bowled an economical three overs, claiming 3-14 when the Colliers batted first and realised 66-7.
