:CK) announced that Myles S. Odaniell, 45, has been named executive vice president, Specialty Chemicals, effective immediately. Odaniell will have responsibility for Crompton's entire portfolio of chemical businesses, which includes Polymer Additives, Polymers and Refined Products, with combined annual sales of approximately $1.7 billion. Mary L. Gum, executive vice president, Performance Chemicals and Elastomers Group, will remain with the company to work on special projects until her retirement at the end of the year.

Odaniell, who has served as executive vice president, Plastics and Petroleum Additives since joining Crompton in June 2003, spent more than 20 years at Cytec Industries Cytec Industries is a specialty chemicals and materials technology company with pro-forma sales in 2004, including the Surface Specialties acquisition, of approximately $3.0 billion.
