Carrie Helen Cromartie and Dr. David Oman Carney were married the morning of May 26, 2002, at Callaway Gardens Callaway is a 13,000 acre (53 km²) resort complex located near Pine Mountain, Georgia. The resort's most popular attraction is Callaway Gardens which draws over 750,000 visitors annually.[1]

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Dean Arthur Dean may refer to:

 Cromartie, Jr. of Hattiesburg. She is the granddaughter of Cora Jeffery Sibley and the late Patrick Howard Jeffery of Sheffield, Alabama Sheffield is a city in Colbert County, Alabama, and is included in The Shoals MSA. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 9,652. Geography

, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dean Cromartie, Sr. of Sarasota, Florida.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Joanne Price Carney of Brandon and Dr. Pomp Temple Carney of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Price of Meza, Arizona, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ansley Powell Carney, Jr. of Meridian.

Dr. John Dudley officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Pat Sumrell of Pine Mountain, Georgia, organist; Sarah Hogrefe of Hattiesburg, soloist; and Althea Jerome of Hattiesburg, soloist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white A-line organza or·gan·za

Assisting the bride as maid of honor was Leisha Evelyn Bush of Hattiesburg. Bridesmaids were Catherine Virginia Purvis of Houston, Texas, cousin of the bride, and Christina Esteile Umbaugh of Moss Point. The bridesmaids wore long A-line gowns of iridescent ir·i·des·cent

Brent Johnston Lindley of Hattiesburg served as the best man. Groomsmen were Jeffery Dean Cromartie of Birmingham, Alabama, brother of the bride, and Dr. Christopher Lynn Cooley of Gainesville, Florida.

The chapel and reception were decorated with pastel English garden-style arrangements in mossed wrought iron baskets with white Casablanca lilies, freesias, stephanotis, hydrangeas, and gardenias from the bride's mother's garden, as well as apricot Oceana roses interspersed among ivy and ferns.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Veranda Restaurant of Callaway Gardens, where guests were entertained with music provided by a jazz band.

Following a Caribbean cruise, the couple resides in Tupelo, where the groom is a family medicine resident at North Mississippi Medical Center.
