Croatia Signs Order With Bombardier For One Canadair 415 With Option For One More.

This order brings the Croatian fleet to four waterbombers, two CL-215 and two Canadair 415 aircraft.

Minister of Interior Ivan Penic signed the agreement for Croatia. "It is a great moment for professional firefighting of my country," said Mr. Penic, who announced imminent negotiations on the purchase of an additional aircraft.

This order increases the Canadair 415 order book to 41 aircraft, 37 of which have been delivered to firefighting agencies in Italy, France, Quebec, Ontario and Croatia.

The Canadair 415 has a maximum speed of 375 km/h (235 mph) and, in an average mission of 11 kilometers (six nautical miles) distance from water to fire, it can complete nine drops within an hour, delivering 55,260 litres (14,600 U.S. gallons) of water or foam fire suppressant.
