Critical Technologies Awarded Contract to Create Custom Accounts Payable Capture Solution for Clear Channel Communications.

Critical Technologies, in partnership with Optika(R) Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTK), has been awarded a contract to create a custom remote document capture and transmission solution of accounts payable records for Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (NYSE: CCU), the number two radio station owner in the U.S.

Critical Technologies' (www.criticaltech.com) Image Envoy(R) product will provide batch scanning, customized indexing, and transmission of thousands of invoices received daily by over 430 Clear Channel Communication radio stations and offices nationwide. The component is an addition to a total solution provided by Optika to assist in Clear Channel Communications' strategic initiative to reengineer its financial management processes, which began last fall.

The new solution replaces a paper-intensive system where batches of invoices were shipped via mail or courier to a central processing unit for manual data entry. Using a customized version of Image Envoy, each remote location will now batch scan invoices then apply custom coding information. The client/server applications will provide image compression and verify transaction integrity before and after transmitting the data through a WAN via FTP to the San Antonio office for processing and payment using Optika eMedia(TM). The system will contribute to the company's efforts to increase efficiency, improve accuracy and reduce payment cycles for its vendors.
