Critical Path's messaging infrastructure and MMS applications give carriers the ability to jump-start MMS adoption and drive more value from their existing MMSC systems. The company's new MMS Composer, which is being demonstrated at 3GSM this week, gives subscribers a web-based interface for creating and sending multimedia messages. With it, subscribers can select images and audio files, annotate annotate - annotation  them with text, arrange them using drag-and-drop, preview and then send the messages in MMS's standard SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) Pronounced "smile." A format for delivering and synchronizing multimedia content on the Web. Introduced in the summer of 1998 by the W3C, it is a document type (DTD) of XML and provides the timing commands that  format. The MMS Composer complements Critical Path's MMS Album, which lets subscribers store MMS messages from their phone handsets or upload them from their desktop. In addition, the MMS Album makes it easy for subscribers to share multimedia files over the Web, stimulating usage of MMS messages even by people who don't have MMS phones or wireless devices.

Critical Path's Mobile Email enables carriers to target mobile professionals and small businesses with integrated email, personal information management, synchronization (1) See synchronous and synchronous transmission.
