(Nasdaq:CPTH), a global leader in communication technology and integrated messaging solutions, serving carriers, service providers and corporations worldwide, today announced the appointment of Edgard Gassino as vice president and managing director for Critical Path EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Gassino, a software industry veteran with more than 25 years experience, will be responsible for all sales and services in the region. He will report to Critical Path's recently appointed President, Pierre Van Beneden.

Gassino brings extensive experience driving EMEA sales and revenues for industry leaders that include Lotus, Oracle and other leading software and services companies. As vice president and managing director, EMEA for Lotus Professional Services, his team grew revenues from $44 million in 1996 to $230 million in 2000. During his tenure at Oracle, he managed a sales team that consistently exceeded its revenue objectives. Additionally he has served as a sales manager, sales engineer and systems engineer for Matra Data Systems and Control Data.
