Critical Path, Inc. Scores Executive Coup With New CFO and CIO; David Thatcher and Joe Duncan to Fill Key Roles At Leading Outsourced Email Provider.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1999--Critical Path, Inc., the leading provider of email solutions for Internet service providers (ISPs), Web hosting companies, telecommunications companies, and corporations, today announced that it has added two key executives to its senior management team.

David Thatcher has joined the firm as EVP EVP Executive Vice President

, chief financial officer and Joseph Duncan will assume the role of VP, chief information officer.

Thatcher brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and operations, working with high-growth, high-tech companies such as Pacific Data Products, Peregrine Systems, The McKinley Group, and Diba. He previously served on Critical Path's Board of Directors and joins the firm from GeoWorks Corporation (Nasdaq:GWRZ) where he was president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . His career at GeoWorks began in March 1997 as chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration.

Duncan will lead Critical Path's Engineering and Operations teams and focus on continuing to build the global messaging infrastructure. Prior to joining Critical Path, he founded Charybdis Software serving the pharmaceutical and bioinformatics markets. Previously, he was at Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq:ORCL ORCL Oracle (stock symbol) ) for more than four years, most recently as sr. vice president for Groupware Systems and Object-Oriented Tools. His 20-year career also includes a variety of senior positions with Borland International, Lotus Development Corp., and Wang Laboratories.
