Criterion Ranks No. 10 Overall with Three-Year Sales Growth of 8,433%

VIENNA, Va. -- Inc. magazine today ranked Criterion Systems No. 1 among 50 companies in the 'Government Services' category and No. 10 overall on its 28th annual Inc. 500, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Inc. magazine unveiled its annual list today at Inc.com and company profiles will appear in the September issue of the magazine.

Criterion, a leading provider of information technology services to government and commercial clients, was also recognized as the No. 2 company in the Washington, D.C. region and No. 2 among the Top 10 Indian-run companies. Since its founding in 2005, the company has grown by 8,433 percent.

Methodology

The 2009 Inc. 500 measures revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore be able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent--not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies--as of December 31, 2008. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2005 is $200,000; the minimum for 2008 is $2 million.
