Crime spotters.


Council staff in Gateshead are helping beat crime and disorder by keeping an eye on the borough's 200 cameras.

Recently they helped police stop several serious incidents after spotting potentially dangerous situations developing.

 footage 24 hours a day, seven day a week.

The CCTV operators have access to police and Nexus CCTV systems, as well as the council's own.
