Crime expert has highest media profile.


A FORMER prison governor has been hailed the most popular media expert in his field after becoming a leading criminologist in Birmingham.

Professor David Wilson, from Birmingham City University Birmingham City University (formerly Birmingham Polytechnic and the University of Central England in Birmingham) is a University in the city of Birmingham, England.

The main university campus is located in Perry Barr, Birmingham.
, topped a league of more than 70 colleagues to become nominated as the criminologist with the highest media profile.

The study, carried out by Nic Groombridge, senior lecturer in criminology and the media at St Mary's University College in London, looked at who was mentioned most often in the press.

He found that Prof Wilson was mentioned 16 times in eight newspapers, including comment on high-profile cases as fraudster fraudster
