Council is organising a crime quiz night A quiz night is a popular Australian form of entertainment usually involving 6 - 8 contestants on a table answering a series of quizzes. The winning table often takes home a series of donated prizes. at North Shields Coordinates: North Shields (or locally just Shields) is a town on the north bank of the River Tyne, in the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside, in North East England. It is located eight miles (13 km) east of Newcastle upon Tyne. library on September 15 at 7pm, with a first prize of pounds 40 in book tokens and pounds 20 in tokens going to the runner-up. The event will be a warm-up for crime novel fans who have the chance to meet best-selling author Pauline Rowson on September 29, at 7pm. Pauline's novels include Cold Daylight, which was voted in the top 10 best reads for World Book Day 2008. Tickets are pounds 2 and are available from the library.
