Crime Fighting Duo Faces Toughest Challenge: Saving K-9 Partner's Life; Delaware State Police Dog to Undergo Radiation Treatment at VCA Veterinary Referral Associates.

WHAT: Delaware Law Enforcement Officer Marc Russell and his K-9
partner Titan have been presented with many life-threatening
situations in the four and a half years they have spent
together fighting crime in the state. Now they are faced with
their most challenging fight -- the battle to save Titan's
life. Diagnosed with angiomatosis, which is characterized by
an abnormal growth of blood vessels in Titan's nose that
obstructs his ability to breathe, the German Shepherd is now
undergoing specialized radiation therapy five days a week at
VCA Veterinary Referral Associates (VCA VRA) in Gaithersburg,
Maryland. Russell, who became the proud father of a new baby
girl on Monday, maintains a hectic work schedule and has been
making the two-and-a-half hour drive each way, every day, to
help Titan get the specialty veterinary care he needs to
        survive.

VCA VRA is a specialty referral facility that serves the
Greater Washington, D.C. area and houses 14 specialists, three
residents, three interns and highly trained technical and
administrative support personnel. Media will be able to
interview and photograph Eric Boshoven, DVM, Marc Russell and
Titan for an update on the K-9's progress and initial response
        to treatment.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 15, 2004
12:00 p.m. Comprehensive update on the evaluation, treatment
and prognosis for Titan will be provided.
