DON Taylor There are several people of note by the name Don Taylor or Donald Taylor known for achievements in various fields. Among them:
  • Don Taylor (actor) (1920-1998) http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.
 writes to say that he can identify some of the people in the photos on page 33 of the May issue.

"The batsman is Cyril Boyes Boyes is a chain of department stores in the UK. William Boyes founded the firm in 1881 and his sons, grandsons and great-grandchildren have carried on the business. It is still family owned today and has grown from one small shop in Scarborough, North Yorkshire to a chain of 33 , who played for Stockton. The lady in the black dress is Gladys Boyes (now deceased) and the airman is a Canadian.

"The cricketers are, I think, Stockton players and I think one of them is Wally Buffham, aka Whacker.

"Cyril and Wally are both deceased but I think Gladys lived in Eamont Road, Norton."
