More than pounds 135,000 was raised by the charity talk and dinner on Monday which will enable Digbethbased Islamic Relief to help thousands of people who are returning home to the region to rebuild their lives. Habib Malik, an aid worker from Islamic Relief, said: "The fact that the event with Shahid Afridi and Younus Khan was sold out and that such a large amount of money was raised, is testimony to the generosity of the Birmingham people and their continued desire to do more to help those suffering in Swat." |
