Cricket team's success.


A TEAM of youngsters from Meltham CE Primary School reached the semi-finals of a national sports contest.

The team was one of a staggering 12,000 schools who entered the Asda Kwik Cricket Kwik cricket (known as MILO Kanga cricket in Australia, and MILO Kiwi Cricket in New Zealand) is a high-speed version of cricket aimed mainly at encouraging children to take part in the main sport.  contest.

The scheme was backed by the England cricket team The England cricket team is the national cricket team which represents England and Wales. Since 1 January 1997 it has been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and was previously governed by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) since 1903.  and by county clubs to promote healthy activities for children.

The Meltham team won through a series of local and regional heats to reach the semi-finals, but they were beaten there by a team from Ghyll Royd, Bradford.
