tour of UAE and Sri Lanka.
New Worcestershire skipper Solanki (96) and Warwickshire's
Bell (54) were the chief contributors to the tourists' 50-over
total of 228 for seven, which was to prove 42 runs too many for UAE in
Sharjah.
England lost Matthew Prior without a run on the board, but Bell and
Solanki then shared a 138-run second-wicket stand.
Solanki hit five sixes before falling to Khuram Khan who also
accounted for Bell.
UAE's reply was never able to muster the required momentum -
despite handy innings from Ashgar Ali and Khuram - and the
tourists' unlikely bowling hero was Middlesex batsman Owais Shah,
who took four wickets with his part-time off-breaks
